Played – 68Won – 42Drawn – 11Lost – 15 England won their last game wearing all-white, beating Lithuania in October 2017 3 3 3 Umbro and Nike purposefully selected all-white kits for their 2010 and 2014 World Cup campaigns, with both ending prematurely. In nine World Cup games, England have won just TWO games wearing all-white, losing three and drawing the other four. Both victories came against Argentina, the first in 1962 and then at the next World Cup where England won the prestigious Jules Rimet trophy. England wore all-white against Argentina at France ’98 Both of England’s kits would have clashed with the Croatia home kit ENGLAND’S RECORD IN ALL-WHITE England will play in a modified all white home kit when they face Croatia in their World Cup semi-final.The game, which you can hear live on talkSPORT from 7pm, is the Three Lions’ first at this stage of the competition since 1990. In 68 matches wearing all-white, England have won 42 times, drawn 11 and lost 15.The problem has arisen with Croatia before, meaning England have played the Vatreni in all-white for five of their six meetings – they have won four and lost twice.Croatia have won their previous two games wearing their changed strip, beating Denmark and Russia on penalties en route to the semi-final.England’s record at the World Cup whilst wearing all-white leaves a lot to be desired. England’s home kit currently consists of a white short and socks combo, with navy shorts – but this would clash once again. The Three Lions have worn a variety of kits over the years, but all-white seems to be a troublesome combination. After wearing all-red for the wins against Tunisia, Colombia and Sweden, Gareth Southgate’s side will be decked out in white for their clash in Moscow.Since Croatia are the designated home team, they would normally be permitted to wear their traditional home strip of white and red checks. However, since this would clash with both the England home and away strips, FIFA have ordered them to change into their blue and black away strip. The Croats have worn their home strip just once in the tournament – their opening game against Nigeria.
Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte, confessed that the Citizens are still hurt from last season’s Manchester Derby upset at Etihad Stadium.Manchester City really did have a unique opportunity that they wanted last season at the Derby that was played at Etihad Stadium and witnessed by Aymeric Laporte from the bench.Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United managed to upset the Citizens during the second half of the match with an unforgettable turnaround.Pep Guardiola’s players saw how their chances of winning the title in their own stadium vs their most hated rival wouldn’t be possible and this left some of the players quite scarred, this season is going to be very interesting for the next time that both clubs meet. The first Derby of the season will be next Sunday at Etihad Stadium once again, the Citizens get to this match as the Premier League’s top squad and the Red Devils appear to have completely recovered from the terrible start of the season that they had under Jose Mourinho. One of the players who is having an incredible start for Manchester City is Aymeric Laporte, the Athletic Bilbao product who got the call from Pep Guardiola on January and he arrived like the emergency transfer in order to aid the club’s sensible absences. At the start of his period for the Citizens, it was obvious that Laporte would take some time to adjust and his real level of performance wouldn’t be discovered until now.Aymeric Laporte on the Manchester derby:”It’s a very important match for two reasons… because it’s the Manchester derby and also because if we win we will put distance between ourselves and them in the table.” [Sky] pic.twitter.com/RNrRx32Hbe— City Watch (@City_Watch) November 8, 2018With a brand new season and a proper preparation to become one of Manchester City’s top players, Laporte has steadily transformed into one of Europe’s most impressive centre-backs and today has become a total lifesaver for his teammates with the Citizens.Manchester City has improved vastly on the defensive aspect because of what Laporte has managed to accomplish so far this season, they have become the best defensive side in English football with only four goals allowed in the first 11 matches.Throughout last season, this squad was already the one with the highest number of scored goals but they still lacked the defensive prowess that they possess today and Laporte has been the defensive leader the club needed. The last time Manchester United played at Etihad Stadium, the Basque defender wasn’t able to play the game because he still hadn’t reached the level of performance that Pep Guardiola expected from him.Report: City are stunned by Norwich George Patchias – September 14, 2019 Manchester City was stunned by Norwich City in todays Premier League clash.Much has been made in recent days of the potential impact of Aymeric…Things have taken a drastic turn this season, Laporte now feels more confident and will be one of the key players for this match on Sunday as the Premier League leaders receive the Red Devils in one of the biggest matches of the year.Top 5 #ManchesterDerby celebrations! 🎊🎉 #mancity pic.twitter.com/gni73hMLdS— Manchester City (@ManCity) November 8, 2018Ahead of the match on Sunday, Laporte wanted to remember what it was like to lose the Manchester Derby from the bench last season.During his exchange with the press, the Spanish defender reminded everyone that many of the players are really hungry for a victory against the club that delayed their title celebration and frustrated a historic moment for Manchester City’s incredible season.“There’s always a feeling of revenge any time you lose against any team,” said Laporte on Sky Sports.“We are always ready to compete and need to take advantage of the good momentum of the team at the moment.”“It’s a very important match for two reasons… because it’s the Manchester derby and also because if we win we will put distance between ourselves and them in the table. Twenty unbeaten matches is a nice record for me,” Laporte added.“I wasn’t aware until someone told me but obviously it’s exciting for me. Breaking records is always nice. Last season as a team we reached 100 points – that was very nice and this year I have this personal record.”“I hope we don’t lose on Sunday or not this derby or the following derby. The goal is always to win and lengthen this record as much as we can,” he concluded.⚽Manchester City vs. Manchester United📅 Sunday, November 11th, 16:30🏟 Etihad Stadium🔥 Fast Facts 🔥What colour will Manchester be on Sunday?#PremierLeague #MCFC #ManCity #MUFC #ManUtd #Manchester #Derby #H2H #Stats #Footballstats #Etihad #Pogba #Sterling #Aguero pic.twitter.com/rLVu5iKElV— freebets.net (@freebetsnet) November 8, 2018Who do you think will win the Manchester Derby on Sunday, City or United?
